Cookie policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026.

This page explains how this website uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements our privacy policy.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on your device when you visit. Local storage is a similar mechanism built into modern web browsers. Both can be used to remember small pieces of information between page loads or visits.

What we use

This website uses only strictly necessary technologies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, social-media trackers, fingerprinting, or any third-party scripts that profile you.

Inventory

NameTypePurposeProviderLifetimeCategory
nsg_cookie_consent_v1 Local storage Remembers your choice on the cookie banner so we don't show it again on every page. Nice Spice (first-party) Up to 12 months Strictly necessary
PHPSESSID Session cookie Set only if you submit the contact form, to prevent abusive automated submissions during the session. Nice Spice (first-party) Until the browser is closed Strictly necessary

Why we don't ask for consent for these

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and ICO guidance, cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service the user explicitly requested do not require consent. Our cookie banner is informational and lets you record a preference; it does not gate access to any content.

Third parties

We do not embed third-party content (no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no YouTube embeds, no Google Maps iframe, no advertising tags). The only outbound links from this site are to clearly labelled external pages (Companies House, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps directions, the ICO). Following such a link will take you to a third party whose cookie practices we do not control.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can clear or block cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using this site, but the cookie banner will reappear on your next visit because your preference will have been deleted.

Reopening the cookie preferences

You can reopen the cookie banner at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce additional cookies — for example, an analytics tool — we will update this page first and request your consent through the cookie banner before any non-essential cookie is set.
